Counts cells of type number in a column in a database that also meet a series of criteria.

Syntax

DCOUNT (database, field_name, criteria)

  • database_base (required ): Range of cells that make up the database. The first row of the range contains the titles of each column
  • field_name (required ): The column to be counted in the function.
  • criteria (mandatory ): Range of cells that contains the criteria to be met.

Examples

BDCCOUNT (A4: E20, “Age”, A1: E2) = Counts the records in the range A4: E20 that meet the conditions in A1: E2. The Age column is a column with numeric data.
